Excellent Results for Moores

Our regulator, April Fisher - Senior Environmental Health Officer from Leeds City Council Environmental Protection Team, visited Moores on Wednesday 13th June 2012. The visit scheduled to coincide with the annual emissions monitoring of one of Moores biomass wood waste boilers. During the visit the regulator discussed the work required for the monitoring process with the technical consultancy. The regulator confirmed that the monitoring company were carrying out the monitoring in accordance with the requirements set out in the Environmental Permit. The ensuing report forwarded to the regulator resulted in the following comment . . ."It is very pleasing to see such favourable results". The regulator also undertook a review of the risk assessments necessary for the two operating Permits held by Moores. The assessments resulting in the continuation of Moores low 'risk rating' necessitating in only one visit per annum by Leeds City Council - Environmental Protect Team. The risk rating also used to determine Moores annual 'subsistence' payment to Leeds City Council, where once again we will be in the lowest band possible for our operations.A number of environmental guidance documents (Process Guidance Notes) have been modified over the last year; therefore the regulator also took the opportunity to assess the implication on Moores operations / requirements for updating the Permits. The operating Permits are currently being updated, however, it does not appear that any modifications will be too onerous for Moores. The visit also confirmed the continual improvement Moores Furniture Group have continued to make to the environment over numerous years.
