Moores are continuing to raise money for Martin House, which will help to provide funding for family led care for children with life shortening illnesses.
Over the last few months’ employees from Moores have taken part in several events to raise money for Martin House. One being the Colour Me Happy Fun Run in Rawcliffe Country Park on the 21stSeptember. 15 members of the Moores team ran the 5K distance whilst being doused in colourful paint along the way. Moores raised a fantastic £460 as part of the event.
Tom Waltasaari commented, “Employees from the company have always been very active in raising money for charity so we decided to look for one that we could collectively support on a ongoing basis. Moores is proud to be raising money for Martin House as it is such a deserving charity that heavily relies on donations from the local community in order to provide such an excellent level of care for the children and families that need it.
“In addition to the money that we raise, our parent company ‘Masco’ offers a scheme called Masco Match that will double the donation total. With this in mind, we are aiming to be able to hand over a cheque for at least £4000 in the first year.”
John Haigh, Corporate Fundraiser for Martin House, adds: “With total operating costs this year of £4.9 million, and only a small proportion of that coming from statutory sources, we are always dependent upon individuals and teams going the extra mile for Martin House and to have the backing of such a dynamic team as Moores makes a massive difference to the more than 400 local children with life-limiting conditions, and their families, who are cared for and supported by Martin House each year. £4,000 will pay for one of our Care Team Specialists for a couple of months, enabling us to provide the “Home from Home” environment which our children and families so fundamentally need.”
